ZimBuild QS was founded by Anele Dube, a qualified quantity surveyor based in Essex, UK, to address a gap that was costing the Zimbabwe diaspora community thousands of pounds every year.
Zimbabweans abroad — in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and South Africa — are building homes back home in significant numbers. But without access to professional cost advice, they are reliant on contractor quotes they cannot verify, budgets based on guesswork, and family contacts who are trying their best but are not QS professionals.
The result is predictable: inflated quotes, budget overruns, unfinished projects, and the deep stress of sending life savings to a project you cannot see or control.
ZimBuild QS exists to put the client in control of the numbers. We produce professional Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and contractor quote audits — based on real Zimbabwe market rates — so that when you sit down with a contractor, you already know what it should cost.
I'm a qualified quantity surveyor based in Essex, UK. I've worked in construction cost management for a number of years, and I understand the technical side of building — how to read drawings, how to measure works accurately, how to apply market rates, and how to spot when a contractor's quote doesn't stack up.
I also understand the Zimbabwe diaspora experience, because I live it. I know what it means to be planning a build thousands of miles away, relying on updates via WhatsApp, trying to make sense of quotes in USD when you think and earn in GBP.
ZimBuild QS is built on that dual understanding — professional QS expertise applied to a market I know personally. Every client gets the same standard of work I would want for myself.
